Review - LEGO 21307 Caterham Seven 620R

The Caterham project has been on Lego Ideas for about two years before reaching ten thousand votes and being approved into an official set. I wasn't expecting it to be choosen, honestly, but i'm happy to be wrong. Lego car lovers will be enthusiastic of this set, that, despite being a different theme, joins the recent wave of similar scaled cars like the F40, the Volkswagen Beetle, The Mini Cooper, etc.

Review - 21305 Maze + Interview with Jason Allemann

The 21305 Maze is the 13th LEGO Ideas set released. It was designed by Jason Allemann who has built lots of great MOCs, many of which have gone viral. This LEGO Ideas set was actually submitted way back in 2012.

Review - 21304 Doctor Who

Doctor Who is the latest from the LEGO Ideas line of sets. The original submission was in Feb 2014 and included some variations and alternate possible Doctors. The final design chose to include two Doctors (but only one companion), and was pretty faithful to the original idea. It includes the detachable Tardis and interior control console.

Review - 21303 WALL•E

The WALL•E set is the latest release from the LEGO Ideas platform, and has received a decent amount of news coverage lately, including plenty of criticism. In case you didn't know, WALL•E is the main character in the 2008 Pixar movie titled WALL•E.

Review - 21302 The Big Bang Theory

So here we are, The Big Bang Theory set is finally available, and we can finally see if it's worth or not. When Lego Ideas announced the production of this Idea, i was undecided. On one side i'm a huge fan of the show since its inception, so of course i rejoiced at the news. On the other side i couldn't help but grumble about how much franchises became dominant in Ideas, despite the abundance of worthy unlicenced models (such as this one for example, which i choose for reasons completely unrelated to me being the author). TBBT is actually one of the worst offenders here, as there's very little "model" in this set, it's more a bunch of minifigs with a literally half a room to provide a background.

Review - LEGO 21108 Ghostbusters Ecto 1

The Ghostbusters Ecto 1 is the first of the newly branded 'LEGO Ideas' sets to be released. The original Cuusoo model was submitted by Brent Waller in March 2013 and quickly reached 10,000 supporters by August 2013. The LEGO Cuusoo team announced the sixth Cuusoo set would be the Ecto 1 in January 2014, and will be released on June 1st. The Ghostbusters HQ building was part of the original Cuusoo submission but not part of the released set, however Brent has made the instructions for building it available for download.

Review - 21104 Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover

The fifth LEGO Cuusoo model selected was the MSL Curiosity Rover designed by Stephen Pakbaz. The original MOC was promoted via many space related forums and rocketed to 10,000 votes on Cuusoo. The fact that it is a very impressive model, at the right size and price, educational, and of course the perfect timing with the landing of the Curiosity Rover on Mars, pretty much guaranteed it's selection IMHO. I have been lucky enough to receive a pre-release copy for review from the LEGO Community Team.
