The Caterham project has been on Lego Ideas for about two years before reaching ten thousand votes and being approved into an official set. I wasn't expecting it to be choosen, honestly, but i'm happy to be wrong. Lego car lovers will be enthusiastic of this set, that, despite being a different theme, joins the recent wave of similar scaled cars like the F40, the Volkswagen Beetle, The Mini Cooper, etc.
The new addition to the Winter Village: 10254: Winter Holiday Train. The series started in 2009, and had a new set every year, except for last year. In 2015 LEGO released a re-release of the 10199 Toy Shop, the 10249 Toy Shop. Many were wondering what would come this year. Will LEGO bring something new, or will they make another re-release. That question is now answered: LEGO released a brand new set! Let's see how it will fit in the Winter Village.
When The Disney Castle was first revealed, I knew I had to have it :) It is certainly an impressive set due to it's size and is instantly recognisable by pretty much anyone. The Disney Castle contains lots of playable features from various Disney movies, some obvious while others were not so obvious (at least to me).
The 42054 Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC is one of the three new Technic sets released in the second half of 2016. It's quite a large set at just under 2000 parts but still only half the size of the 42055 Bucket Wheel Excavator. The Claas Xerion really stood out to me as a quite unique build.
The 42053 Volvo EW 160E is one of the three new Technic sets being released in the second half of 2016. It is also based on the pneumatic system v2 which don't come along too often.
There have not been too many pneumatic sets released, and this is only the third one I've owned. It is an interesting system and very different from all the other LEGO mechanics. The recent sets 42043 Mercedes Benz Arocs and 42008 Service Truck both came with Power Functions in addition to the Pneumatics. The 42053 Volvo however leaves out the Power Functions as an optional extra, although it does have comprehensive instructions for how to integrate them.
The much anticipated (at least by me) set Bucket Wheel Excavator 42055. When this monster was announced, I knew I had to get him. Especially the new gear-part 24121 looks like a great addition to the Technic collection. I’m expecting a new wave of MOC from it. Let’s see if this set can meet up with the/my expectations.
Sorry, this review has been removed as the original author decided to delete his images.
The Ghostbusters Headquarters Firehouse is similar to sets that have been submitted to LEGO Ideas, including one by the original Ecto 1 designer Brent Waller. I can't understate how massive this set is! It actually took me something like 2 months to finish building this - mainly because of the need to take photos, and inability to dedicate the many, many hours needed to finish it!
