The latest addition to the Architecture series is the Eiffel Tower. I was fortunate to get an early copy from the LEGO Community Team. If you read my previous review on the Marina Bay Sands Hotel Architecture set, you will know that it didn't really hold much interest for me. Read on to see how the Eiffel Tower set fairs.
Of the thirteen LEGO Movie Sets to choose from, I picked this one to build first. It's a pink Ice Cream Truck that turns into a flying death machine! As if I wouldn't!
The fifth LEGO Cuusoo model selected was the MSL Curiosity Rover designed by Stephen Pakbaz. The original MOC was promoted via many space related forums and rocketed to 10,000 votes on Cuusoo. The fact that it is a very impressive model, at the right size and price, educational, and of course the perfect timing with the landing of the Curiosity Rover on Mars, pretty much guaranteed it's selection IMHO. I have been lucky enough to receive a pre-release copy for review from the LEGO Community Team.
The LEGO Community team sent out a handful of exclusive Marina Bay Sands Hotel sets for review, and I got my hands on one :) Less than 10,000 of these sets are to be made so is it worth grabbing one? Read on to find out!
The LEGO team sent me an early LEGO 10243 Parisian Restaurant to review. I'll say it upfront - I'm usually a Technic guy, but maybe that's just because I haven't found the right non-Technic set yet :) This is my first Modular Buildings set (other than the Mini Modulars which I don't think count!) so let's see how it went!
So I couldn't wait any longer and decided to build the primary model next - Ev3rstorm. This is the main model shown on the box images and I guess you could call it the "mascot" for the EV3 set.
This is the second part of an unknown number of reviews of the LEGO 31313 Mindstorms EV3 robotics set. If you haven't seen the first part, I recommend reading that to understand what this set is all about.
I mentioned this book previously, but due to a delay in publishing I got the timing wrong. Now this book is on the shelves and you can buy it from your local shop, or online from No Starch, Amazon or eBay. I bought the PDF version from No Starch but then was unable to download it after dozens of attempts. As luck would have it, I found it on the shelves of a department store (not even the book stores had it) and bought a physical copy too. Naturally, I tried the PDF download one more time and it worked :)
Disclaimer: I have a background in Microelectronics Engineering which basically means I love robots. Combine that with my career in IT and love of LEGO and you end up with a 100% biased review of this Mindstorms robotics LEGO set :) Plus it's kind of long!
