    Direct links to colour/setlist

That's simply awesome. This will make inventorying bulk lots so much quicker. I just can't get over how much you're listening to the community for things like this and how quickly you include them. Thank you very much!

Well I must assume you can download a instruction you bought more than ones, so maybe someone did.

    Direct links to colour/setlist

I have a suggestion that would make navigation much faster in some cases and I think it's probably not that big a deal to implement. At least I hope. When you click on a part in a set's inventory, you are taken to a part page where you can see how many you have of that part by colour/partlist. But then, if you want to go to one of these specific colour/partlist page to edit the quantity, there is no direct way. You can link to the partlist and from there filter and search for the part but you already had found the part and the partlist so it seems like a link is missing somewhere. Could the numbers in the colour/partlist grid be links to this page? Admittedly, I'm less sure of the implications for the grid in the part summary popup window but I imagine that would probably be relatively straightforward for the full page version. I can see many cases where that would be useful but here's the one I most often face. I'm putting together a used set and some parts are missing. If I don't have the part in my loose parts, I mark it as lost. That goes well. But if I find that I have some loose ones of this part, I will instead reduce my number of loose parts since some are now assigned to this set to replace the missing ones. That's when I find myself doing the running around I described above and could go much faster with these links.

    submitting old set image

A catalog image counts as an image. That text only appears when we have zero image for a set. But we are always eager to improve images. Especially for older sets. You need to upload the image to bricksafe. Then go to the set in question, click Submit Change Request button on the lower right (scroll down a bit). Paste the link to the image in the CR. Hope that helps. thanks

Ok, I saw there were many, that'S why I asked here before sending the requests. If I see some in other categories, I'll send requests.

As a suggestion, it would be useful to have an additional toggle option in the Inventory Options on the a Set page to "Highlight Lost Parts". Perhaps since missing parts are red, owned parts are green, lost parts should be orange? Alternatively, instead of yet another toggle option, just extend the existing "Highlight Missing Parts" toggle to also highlight "Lost" parts (but in a different colour like orange)? And since it's related, perhaps either an additional toggle to "Hide Lost Parts" or, again, extend the existing "Hide Missing Parts" toggle to include "Lost" parts as well. (See attached) My personal preference would be to extend the existing "Missing Part" toggles to avoid more clutter in the Options menu, but I'm sure there will people who use the existing functions in a particular way which would get disrupted I actually assumed that this was how it worked from the start, because when you start out with not many sets, it effectively does. It's only once you get multiple sets with the same part that the difference between how "missing" and "lost" parts becomes apparent. I realise there is the "Lost Parts" view under the MY LEGO menu, but that's like an overall summary across all sets. I feel that a quick way of checking which parts are lost from a given set when checking it's inventory list would be useful.

Thanks Jared. That's useful to know. I was planning to break out the light box and take some photos as I've done in the past. But I've also been recently submitting change requests to improve the generic descriptions on some printed minifig parts, and those were taken largely from BL (and noted as such in the change request). So your comments here are helpful. You may want to consider adding some text about that to the change request dialog.

Hi seejay. while I can’t help with your issue I would just like to take a second to reinforce a key policy. We cannot use information from BrickLink. So when the above gets fixed and you start submitting images the images must be taken and owned by you. Please take care when copying descriptions and numbers too as we do things slightly differently to BrickLink (but that’s not photo related just for any new people reading this, haha) Thanks, Jared

    Set 10152

Thea has done the research for this, so this particular case is hers to decide. I am not going to interfere with that, but I do have a general observation. There are probably two dozen LEGO colors that we don't recognize as separate colors, and which are currently mapped to an existing Rebrickable color. If you look at our color table, all the double entries in the LEGO column represent at least one LEGO color we don't recognize as separate color. As an example, both LEGO colors 316 Titanium Metallic and 148 Metallic Dark Grey are mapped to Rebrickable color 148 Pearl Dark Gray. Some of these LEGO colors are virtual, they were introduced in earlier versions of LDD, and removed again in LDD 4 (probably never used in real parts); some are only used for a single occasion (Metallic Red for a single minifig); but LEGO is increasing their color pallete again (consider the Sprayed Gold for the new Lunar Model Creator Expert), and if they re-use color IDs that are currently mapped to another Rebrickable color, we will be forced to split colors, like we did with Pastel Blue. Obviously we can change the color of some parts in set inventories, and the resulting build problems with an owned set can be easily corrected by removing the set from your set list, and then adding it again with the newly changed inventory. However, we can never change colors in user's part lists. So this basically reverts to the same discussion we had about the impact of inventory changes. Yes, if we correct an error in an inventory, your part collection may change. The same applies for color corrections. But arguing that we should stop correcting errors because it might impact part collections is both unattainable and discriminatory against new users, with small part collections. Our users expect our data to be as accurate as possible, and rightly so, and many of you are actively helping us to correct any errors, for which we are very grateful. Sometimes these correcting can have a bigger impact then expected, and if we can, we will try to help you solve those problems. But please, do not ask us to revert a warranted correction on account of part collection continuity, because such a request is basically asking us to stop correcting errors, and we can't do that. Take care, Simom

BI downloads vs BI sales inconsistency?

Before we approve a (Premium) MOC, we always download a copy to make sure the instructions are correct. After that, we delete the copy.

    Early LEGO History (1949 - 1965)

I may study how the LEGO logo is made and then give the M a try. Mayby even see if I can add some more parts to the tiny library.

Hi Simon. Your workaround works perfectly,. Thanks for that. I'm happy to document the differences. I spent a bit of time comparing the two to find them myself earlier today. I'll do that as a change request.

Eddy please read my last post carefully. "To be clear, duplicate photos have only been getting deleted in the last month-ish as Nathan made changes to the system which allowed this to happen." Simon spent a long time investigating and telling you the numbers for how many photos have been deleted since you started to complain about this issue and it wasnt close to the thousands you kept claiming. If a photo is deleted it goes in the CL that it was. Your claim originally was that photos were disappearing without any sign of why. That is a wrong assertion and one that has been explained to you several times now. Thea was incorrect to make her statement as she is an admin and is well aware of our policies and what changes to policies have been made recently. One more time, your issues are: 1. ISSUE: You expect your old photos to be at the top of the part page because they used to be. For unique parts not in sets this was great for you because you could see the image without it needing to be in a set. ANSWER: The site was changed to display the photo of the most common color NOT the oldest photo. This has meant that you immediately think your photo has gone, especially for parts without a set and thus without a color breakdown page. HOW I SOLVED THIS FOR YOU: I added your parts to a dummy set which now creates a color breakdown page so you can see your photos. 2. ISSUE: You expect the photo drop down to include all part photos, thus you think your images are missing because they are not there. ANSWER: That drop down is for secondary photos ONLY. Your images are primary photos and will not display there. For parts without sets this meant your image was not visible anywhere by a user. HOW I SOLVED THIS FOR YOU: The same as above. Adding your parts to a dummy set gave them a color breakdown page which allowed you to see the part photo. 3. ISSUE: Your thumbs in part lists, etc..., are no longer displaying your photos but an incorrect LDraw image instead. ANSWER: Simon is in the middle of a very large and very complicated project to update all our LDraw images and improve their usefulness. This has caused some errors to part thumbs. HOW SIMONS GOING TO SOLVE THIS FOR YOU: Once his work is complete everything should be correct. As usual with this kind of thing there's bound to be some issues and we'll gladly sort them out then. 4. ISSUE: You don't like the policy of deleting photos. ANSWER: It's unreasonable to expect us not to delete photos if we get better ones. We now get a few hundred a week. If we kept older bad ones what purpose would they serve? Who wants to look at them? Why use up the storage space to keep them? HOW I SOLVED THIS FOR YOU: This is one of those things that unfortunately if you don't like you're going to have to lump. This is the site, this is the policy. 5. ISSUE: You thinking the Admin have got it out for you and don't believe you. ANSWER: You are so very wrong. You are the most involved user on the site, your input is invaluable and I know every single admin and user that is aware of all your work is very grateful. We have investigated your claim of vanishing photos several times over the past two years. Do you think we'd do that for someone we thought was an idiot? Do you think I'd still be responding now? HOW I SOLVED THIS FOR YOU: This ones up to you. I can't convince you anymore. CONCLUSION: No-one is unnecessarily deleting photos and no-one is maliciously messing you around. I have explained all this to you several times. I want to remind you that I am a volunteer here. I am using my personal time dealing with this for you and I'm pretty confident I have solved everything for you and explained as best I can what went wrong and how I've fixed it. If you somehow still don't believe me and are convinced your photo's are getting deleted I'm going to ask you again, please provide examples for us to investigate. As you saw from this post, examples help us give solutions. It's taken two years to get an example from you and as soon as we did we discovered what your issue was. Your Brown and Reddish Brown photos are now visible, and also no longer give you a color error (Your welcome by the way).

    Price Guide suggestion

https://rebrickable.com/blog/187/review-30340-1-emmets-piece-offering/#comments When it comes to that hidden price guide,Shouldn't it just track changes in price. ie if the price remain same don't do a entry, and limit the number of data points to 100 (3+ months worth of changes). That way all sets will have data in that field even if they are rare and barely sold. (as long as one set has bee sold since the feature started monitor the channels) That is the problem with bricklinks price guide data is flushed after 6 months, so if you find a rare sets you won't know what it's worth.if a set is unavailable put it down to zero, so we can see not only value but availability. ie when did the last set sell and how long did it takes for it to sell at that price

Show lost parts from set page

Hi. When viewing a set that is in my sets lists, I haven't been able to find an easy way to see which parts are marked as lost. Instead, I have been opening My Lost Parts and then selecting the set from the Sets drill down filter. It's quite a few steps to get from one to the other, and there are two points in the process where I have to wait for unnecessary stuff to load, and I think it would make sense to have a button or link or something on the set page which lets you see lost parts easier. Remove all parts of set in My Lost Parts

I suggest that we add a button to remove all the parts of a set in My Lost Parts instead of remove part by part. Thanks
