Technic set life span

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I hope this is the right place to post this - please move if not. Also I have searched but not able to find an answer.

A few people have said the the product life span of Technic sets is only a couple years. Is there a resource anywhere why I can find out when sets are going EOL?

Thanks

You have to ask the Lego Managers, I doubt they make any public notes about except removing it from the next catalog. it's most likely a sells based factor in there somewhere, and the urge to renew their stock. besides you can usually find some sealed sets in store after this dates either way.

On shop.lego.com, some sets are marked as Retiring Soon. That's the only way I know of knowing in advance that sets are gonna go out of production and it's not very precise. I also think it depends largely on the individual sets. Some sets like the first version of the Death Star with minifig interior are sold for many years while sets like the Doctor Strange set from last year are already gonna be retired.
