  2. If you build a MOC ( called Build A) and you want to keep it built, what happens to your inventory? For example: you want to build another MOC (Build B) and Rebrickable says that you have 83%, if the parts of the Build A are counted into that 83% then you'll have a problem,no? Please help and thank you! P.S: i get that it wouldn't be much of a problem for mocs with around 100-300 pieces. But the MOCS on Rebrickable that i decide to do are always 1000-2000 pieces and up. Therefore, my inventory would definitely not be accurate.
  3. On the topic of transitional period for tiles with/without bottom groove. There are inventories of sets that includes both! For example: i have 6515 - Stunt Copter set that includes one grilled tile with and one without bottom groove. https://rebrickable.com/sets/6515-1/stunt-copter/#parts What to do in that situation? Maybe include third version of inventory that handles that?

Actually, the prices are not downloaded in that sense. They are based on the search results that we receive for the Buy Parts/Multi-Buy pages during the last 24 hours. If a part has not been queried via that method it will not have any BL price data included in it's average calculation. At least that's for BL parts, the averages also include BO and ToyPro data which is available in full every day but there are far fewer stores for them.

Thanks for that. It makes sense that the 6 months average prices would be just as slow for RB to pull as it is for me. But if the RB "total value" figure could be calculated on the *used* for sale prices instead of new (or if that was an option the user could set), I think it would make that figure a more interesting for most part collectors.
  7. Doesn't make sense to run the price check for every part every day. Maybe for "new" part/color combos just added otherwise spread it out over a week for older parts/sets which are unlikely to change drastically fast. Personally I could run my RB site completely without price info, because I don't care about it. I am sure there is people who do. but if I could customize my settings to not load that info and get a faster experience that would be great, I could always turn it back on the few times I might want to see it.

The problem is what you already encountered. It's a heavy load on BL to go by all parts. The for-sale prices are easy available in a download. Some people uses their store as their collection database. Or they are hoping for someone who doesn't know how the site works.

It would be great if the total value was based on used prices instead of new (or if that were an option the user could control). I have a script that will go fetch all the 6-months average used prices for my parts lists and calculate a more realistic value, but it's slow to run and i'd love for RB to do that for me. Also, well done on excluding the outliers. I really wonder about the business model of some of those stores . . .
  10. Hi Nathan, thanks for your answer. I'm aware of this principle. But even those relationships are not in the part_relationships.csv. cheers, l3g0

For parts, this should improve soon. I'm working on adding all missing BrickLink mappings
  12. The relationship in this case goes via 4599, so: 4599a is a mold of 4599 4599b is a mold of 4599

I also changed (just yesterday) how it calculates the average price per part/color to try and ignore the ridiculous outliers that some stores charge. That probably accounts for the relatively large drop compared to normal fluctuations.
  14. They all got unrealistic value since most collectors doesn't keep them in "new" condition but rather "used" which is far less valuable. You will never raise that amount money if you try to sell your parts, unless you kept them in a sealed boxes and what's fun with that? so treat it just as a fun fact.

Also only certain % of parts contains info on the price, see your "My LEGO collection", where you can see something like: When some expensive part gets the price or that part is no longer on sale, value can fluctuate greatly. Also note that specific part can sometimes get unrealistic value.

The value is determined by the for-sale prices on Bricklink, Brickowl and ebay. These are daily (I think, at least ince in a given period) calculatrded, and can fluctuate. When the average price goes down, so does your collection.

I just started inventorying my legos a few months ago. One week ago, my collection showed on here to be valued approximately at $2200.00, and in the last week, I added approximately 500 new parts to my inventory and now it says $1700. How could value go down when I added to the inventory? any info would be greatly appreciated!

  20. Added Tip for next time: if you put this in a Change Request (button at bottom of set page), it gets added to our to-do list. In the forum it tends to get lost. And you'll get points, unlocking new features!
  21. In the main menu bar under Account is an option MOC sales.
  22. Hey guys, imho there are some relationships missing in the file part_relationships.csv, for example the relation between 4599a and 4599b. Is this so or am I mistaken? And if so, will there be an update? Thanks very much in advance and for your excelent work at rebrickabe. Have a nice weekend, cheers, l3g0

    Someone stolen my creations

Because my mail is not yet been replied, I post here to call for help. I think it is a serious problem, could anyone tolerate his own creations been replicated for business? Dear Rebrickable administrator: It is sad to say there are some of my creations been replicated and posted on the Rebrickable site. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-28757/JamesSpookie/halo-pelican/#comments https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-28771/JamesSpookie/scorpion/#comments Although this builder had modified my creations a little, I still can tell they are 99% replicated from mine! https://www.flickr.com/photos/zio_creation/4650361738/in/album-72157651096469576/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/zio_creation/2716865444/in/album-72157651096469576/ I also found he might replicate others creation: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-28873/JamesSpookie/colonial-raptor/#comments original builder: https://www.flickr.com/photos/wintermute2600/albums/72157606553549525 How would you approach this problem? Thanks
  25. Hello, Simple question. Where do I go to see my MOC sales? Thanks,
  26. Hi, I have lost 25 Technic Bushes (https://rebrickable.com/parts/4265a/technic-bush-12-toothed-type-i-opening/) in total, spread over 5 sets. The quantities are 3, 4, 4, 4 and 10. On the Buy Parts view of My Lost Parts, I click on the Buy button of a shop and only one of the five quantities (in this case 10) is transferred into to shopping cart, although there are more in stock at this shop. I guess it's a bug or do I have misconfigured something? Thanks. Niko
