MOC Building Instruction Types
Every single MOC on Rebrickable comes will a full parts list and building instructions. There are many different types of instructions, some easier to follow than others! Some instructions require special software to be able to open, detailed below.

3D File - MLCad MPD/LDR | Yes | Requires software that supports the LDraw system to open. |
3D File - LEGO Digital Designer LXF | Yes | Requires LEGO Digital Designer to open. The quality of building instructions will vary based on how the model was designed. |
3D File - Stud.io | Yes | Requires BrickLink Studio to open. |
3D File - Other | Yes | Some other 3D file format not covered above. |
Photo Sequence | A bunch of individual photos showing the step by step process to build the MOC, eg a Flickr or Bricksafe page. | |
Video Instructions | A video showing the instructions, most often Youtube. | |
Online Flash | A site showing the instructions in a browser Flash application. Not used much. | |
iOS App | Yes | A link to an Apple iOS app you can download and see the instructions. |
High Quality Images | Like Photo Sequence, but computer generated images. | |
PDF - Computer Images | A PDF file containing a sequence of computer generated images. These are usually done in a manner very similar to official LEGO instructions. | |
PDF - Generated from LDD | A PDF file containing the output of a LEGO Digital Designer model's automated building instructions. The quality will vary based on how the model was designed. | |
PDF - Generated from Studio | A PDF file containing the output of a Studio model's automated building instructions. The quality will vary based on how the model was designed. | |
PDF - Photo Sequence | A PDF file containing a sequence of photos of the build process. |
