    Greetings
I am about to start building this and was wondering what the size of it is, especially the height while on the stand and the width. I need to make sure I have enough space on the top of my bookshelf for this. I would hate to build this and then discover I don't have the room to display it
    Cheers

      112 cm long x 56 cm wide x 32 cm high.

What are its dimensions? I want to make sure it's about the same scale as my other large star destroyers.

Very impressive! How much time did you need to design it? And how much time do you think does it take to build?

Such a large build! Congratulations for what your hours of work have brought!

Can you please recommend a vendor that would have all parts if possible so I can purchase the instructions and parts to build this epic set.
  • 1 year, 2 months ago Chesmu (221)
I built this one about six months ago.  Great build, easy to follow instructions.  It is a heavy ship, and the magnets have a hard time holding the bottoms of the "wings on".  I've read that there is a "technic" solution that replaces the magnets.  You may want to look into that if you're considering this build.

I bought the plans a while ago and don't know what I've done with it can u resend them to me or would I have to pay again!?!

    Cheers

is the inventory  on this site 100% complete?
  • 2 years, 1 month ago Chesmu (221)
I am in the process of building
Waiting for some technic parts to arrive from Strykow, Poland to complete the frame.
Some of the dark red is no longer available, and I used a lot of scavenged pieces from my Lego collection, so my color scheme will be slightly different from the original, but I can't wait to finish it up.
Instructions have been good so far, just difficult to read off the computer screen sometimes

Just finished this MAGNIFICENT build, and it is HUGE. Unfortunately, there is no place in my home where this will fit or shelf that will support it  properly. It was placed on a 12 inch shelf and the weight tilted the shelf and my UCS 7191 came crashing down. It also precariously sticks out about 10 inches. My wife will not give up the dining room table! How selfish of her :). The argument that it would make a great May The 4th centerpiece didn't cut it. The only recourse is to take as many photos as possible, call all of my Lego friends over to gawk at it, then dismantle and box it up for a future time. Kudos to Aniomylone again for the opportunity and the experience. The only upside to this situation is that I get to build it again some day (yay), and the assurance that all the parts are there.

Comment that come in from rockpig via Change Request:

I am currently building this model.
1). Rebrickable part list is missing 4 LBG 1 x 4 Bricks Modified with 4 studs on one side (30414). The pieces are listed on the pdf part list. Parts are installed on page 51 step 37 in the instruction pdf.
2). Rebrickable inventory lists 8 Trans Light Blue Dish 4 x 4 Inverted (Radar) (3960). As per the pdf inventory listing, only 4 of these (3960) are required. An additional 4 Trans Light Blue Dish 3 x 3 Inverted (Radar) (43898) are required. Engine assembly.
3). Rebrickable parts list calls for 20 DBG Plate 2 x 4 (3020). You need 48 (Instructions were checked page by page). Pdf file is also incorrect with 40 listed as required.
4).Rebrickable parts list calls for 24 DBG Technic, Plate 2 x 4 with 3 holes (3709b). You will need only 4 (Again, instructions were checked page by page.  Pdf file is also incorrect with 12 listed as required.

Sorry to keep doing this, but I found 2 more inventory issues. Rebrickable parts list calls for 20 DBG Plate 2 x 4 (3020). You need 48 (Instructions were checked page by page). Pdf file is also incorrect with 40 listed as required. Also, Rebrickable parts list calls for 24 DBG Technic, Plate 2 x 4 with 3 holes (3709b). You will need only 4 (Again, instructions were checked page by page.  Pdf file is also incorrect with 12 listed as required. Not sure of any way to get the Rebrickable parts list updated to reflect these corrections other than to post here.

No, not really. In case of MOCs it's hard for us to verify the change suggestion, so we just pass the message along to the MOC-designer, normally by leaving a comment here. If the designer doesn't respond to you, he also won't to us.

I do not apply "change parts" requests, for 2 reasons :
            - I don't know how to handle it
            - the parts involved are very limited (0,005% ?), and people often have several of them in spare. If not, they are very cheap to get.
            • 2 years, 3 months ago rockpig (3K)
Fair enough, I guess changes suggested in the posts will have to act as a guide.

Yes, the suggested parts were very cheap to get.

              Thanks for your quick reply.
              Pete

BTW - Where do you display yours?
  • 2 years, 3 months ago rockpig (3K)
Right now I am working on the engines and I have found another inventory adjustment.

The instructions are very clear and precise. An absolute joy to work on this!

Hi dear. I supose you did a list with the bricks needed on a page destinated to brick selling and you still have it. Im interested on buying the pieces and build this beautifoul venator but it will be hard for me select every piece.

Could you please share the cart done with me? (if its possible) Thanks you.

My question is, how the flip did you put on the bottom panels?! I'm working on my own and I can't figure it out......
    • 2 years, 3 months ago rockpig (3K)
      Hi,

You do not need to flip the model. The view provided in the pdf instructions are just for clarification of the position of the bottom panels. I used the technic solution described below, which worked very well,  and found that a few soft pillows placed beneath each panel to hold it in position while placing the attachments worked fine.

    Hi All,

I just started the build. Noticed that the Rebrickable part list is missing 4 LBG 1 x 4 Bricks Modified with 4 studs on one side (30414). The pieces are listed on the pdf part list. Parts are installed on page 51 step 37 in the instruction pdf.

    BTW - Fantastic build.

Hi. Do you know that Aliexpress now pre-sells what seems to be a Lepin version of this?
    Here are two examples:
[links removed by admin - these are the stolen MOCs, please don't link to them and support their business - Nathan]
I know Lepin does both MOC licensing and rip-offs.. Which one is that?
If licensed, 5c/piece looks hard to beat :)
    Thanks!

Is there an average price for buying the pieces?
    • 2 years, 6 months ago rockpig (3K)
I just finished ordering the parts, with a few substitutions (LBG levers and the magnets), and my average piece was about $0.21 without shipping. I purchased all new parts and used the color in the BrickLink parts list. You could cut that per piece price down if you substitute the colors for internal parts and purchase used parts.

Finished it this week. AWESOME! Just not sure where to display it now....
  • 3 years, 6 months ago tommylines (150)
almost have all the parts for it. one piece that seems almost impossible to get is 18 of the tan magnet holder 30159, or that that piece in any color even.
    • 3 years, 6 months ago nmwolfie (237)
I just completed mine. Skip on the magnets and use a combination of technic bricks to hold the lower frame on. Far cheaper and it holds the panels very well. Send me e-mail if you would like pictures of what I used.
