Hi! Question: You start off with the main set, which I already have, do you then need a second set to complete the extensions on either end? Or am I missing something?
    • 1 month, 2 weeks ago hitchhiker (833) MOC Designer
No, you must buy the missing 1290 parts from inventory e.g. at BrickLink. The parts cost about 150 to 200 euros.

Ah OK, thanks for the info, might have to look into this a bit more!

Well done! Very nice extension! I own the tower Bridge, so maybe I can add yours extensions to it! Thanks!

Hi there and many congratulations and compliments for the MOC! Can you give me the total dimensions in cm of the complete set with the two extensions? Can you tell me if there is a manufacturer of cases that has adapted to the total size? thanks a lot

According to a previous post of the designer, the total length is 153,6 cm. I can’t help you with the rest though.

The inventory is missing A LOT of pieces! Please check and update it. After buying all that was listed I started building. You can't even finish part 1.
Like there are one 2x 3857 but you need 4. The reddish brown 3460 are missing completely. The 48288 are also missing 4 pieces. And that is not all.
    • 1 year, 1 month ago hitchhiker (833) MOC Designer
The inventory is correct! This MOC is an extension to the set 10214. You need this set.

For example, the reddish brown 3460 are left over because they are swapped for the reddish brown 4477.

Really? Oh, my bad. I started with your extensions and hadn't looked at the original set.
That explains why I was the only one with these problems.

        Sorry.

Hello, you are not the only one with these problems.
A note in the MOC description that parts are left by exchange would save many users the confusion when buying parts or building. I would add a hint.

Apart from that, this is a wonderful MOC and the construction is a lot of fun.

I have this set already, do I need to buy another full set to add the extensions on either end?

No. See my answer to your comment.

    Hi!
    Very well done, indeed.
I was searching the so called chain towers in 2014 and did not want to start from scratch. Finally I found http://www.derboor.de/Lego-DESIGN/
I bought the building instruction, but was not happy with the final outcome, therefore I modified the towers a lot. Your version looks more realistic, but I will not start modifying again, I am happy with my towers. You should put your MOC on Lego ideas, though many people owning the original Tower Bridge will not have the space to store the advanced model.

WOW.  Just awesome.  The length may become an issue now though.  What is the total length?
    • 1 year, 8 months ago hitchhiker (833) MOC Designer
Tank you. 1.536 mm (192 studs)
  • 1 year, 8 months ago Bolbuyk (11K) MOC Designer
Very nice to see both portals are slightly different, it never got my attention.
    A few nitpicks:
1st ext Page 22 + 23: 2 tan quarter circular tile have to be used as parts
2nd ext Page 4: SNOT-brick with 2 side studs instead of 1 side stud to be used
I also would recommend to put a 10 long technic axle inside the little tower that is built form page 6 on for sturdiness.
    • 1 year, 8 months ago hitchhiker (833) MOC Designer
Thank you for the hints. I do not know why the parts are not displayed. Is probably a problem in Lpub. I'll take a closer look at the hint with the axle.
    • 1 year, 6 months ago hitchhiker (833) MOC Designer
Thanks again for the hints. I managed to eliminate the mistakes. I also installed the axle 10.

Great! The Tower Bridge always was one of the better models, but with this extension it's an absolute topmodel. When I started building, I tought both entrances are equal, but they are fairly different. Very nice work. Thanks for sharing.
  • 1 year, 8 months ago Bolbuyk (11K) MOC Designer
I've thought about this several times, but never went into doing it. Very nice job! The official set always feels a little unfinished without the both entrances.

    Awesomely well done.
Q: The instructions show 5 big 48288's, but the inv only says 4. Am I missing something?
    • 1 year, 8 months ago hitchhiker (833) MOC Designer
4 is correct. The original bridge just needs to be adjusted. Therefore appear in the manual 6 pieces. Part 3 has to be built twice!

Wow this is so nice work! Thank you for sharing!
