Completed MOC. I made both lift arms in red, which started because I only have the gear rack housing in that color.

Adds some color to the combined Mack & side lift trailer

Having the forward lift arm over the kingpin does not cause any problems for steering.

20ft container with plenty of room for storage, however the extra weight would put a lot of sideways strain on the arms. I made some slights MODs based on available panels.

Nice design of putting the forward lift arm over the kingpin.

Completed MOC without the container.

Perspective view.

Rear view of the IR receivers and battery box that are nicely integrated into the design.

Stabilizers extended.

Lift to maximum height. I'm using Lego strings with end studs as I don't have any Minifig chains.

Lowering. Note that the lower actuators do jump forward at one point in the lowering, which can cause the container to roll over.

Container on the ground with plenty of clearance from the trailer.

From this view you can see the sideways strain (sagging inwards) on the lift arms. This is made worse when the container is loaded. This is only a minor problem.
