4882 Sky soarer
The design is obviously inspired by the official 31042 Super Soarer set, which shares some of the color scheme. I knew I could make wings that could be moved around, as I did with the Sea Sprite, but there I had full freedom to set it up the way I liked it. I didn't have the special parts to make the engine move the wings, although I wasn't that far off to make it work. Similarly that lack required me to make the model longer so I could make effective use of the parts I did have. There is quite a bit of improvisation. I had to use several parts that I usually use to finish the design to make the functionality work, so that I couldn't use them to match the design of the Super Soarer, although what I could do isn't that bad. Overall the result is quite decent. The length of the model makes the position of the wings a bit too much to the back if you turn them backwards, but if you turn them a little forward they do fit quite well. Of course the actual Super Soarer looks way better but I am satisfied with how close I've gotten and as its own model it works out alright.
