4882 Heron cruiser
This model took several variations to get right. Even now it is not exactly how I wanted. It would have been nice to use the wing plates as wings but that would have sacrificed too much shape from the body. Now the color scheme looks good and I solved my intent by use the sloped bricks in combination with the large rudders to emulate wings. These allowed me to even add some guns; always fun. The neck itself is basic and looks nice, although the hinges are not strong enough to hold different set positions. You have to keep the model in a certain position to balance thing out. That is a pity but I do like that things can move. The head may look a bit funny with the engines attached to the head, but I like the quirkiness of it and one could imagine detaching the head and the body into separate functioning ships. The overall shape looks very nice and more fitting to the name than some other models that barely share a resemblance to the creature they are name after.
