Deep Sea Creatures Swimming Shark Stand

This is a display stand for 31088 Deep Sea Creatures that can be used to make the shark swim. The stand has room to display the components of the main model of the set - the shark, crab and treasure chest.
Note that a few changes to the shark are required so that it can move freely. These changes and the parts needed are included in the instructions.
Note that special attention needs to be made when connecting the crank shaft axles, gears and pulley wheels to ensure they are oriented correctly. These are noted in the instructions.

Can this be done even w/o power functions (manual turning)?
    • 1 week, 1 day ago JKBrickworks (22K) MOC Designer
Uh, yes, the main photo, most of the video and the instructions all illustrate it being manually operated.

Your setup is so nice that I decided to buy the Lego set. Without your display stand the set didn't interest me at all but your moc makes it stand out! :)

Thanks for the instructions.  This is such a cool MOC.  Just build and it looks so real when the shark is moving.  Amazing. I love it.

The movement is so real I thought you are a marine biologist!

My deepest respect! When I found your first shark on YouTube ( I definitely wanted to build it. After some effort putting into it, I succeeded to make something similar ;-)  Strange that this cool model isn't on rebrickable?
Anyway, seeing this new shark project, I decided to make an "aquarium" and let the two sharks swim together - see pictures. I wish I could upload a video, it's great to see both sharks swim together!
Thank you very much for your work and free instructions, keep on doing a great job!!

Finally build it with my son ... absolutely awesome!
Now he's replacing the attachments: shark + fish + sea grass, panther + snake + jungle leaves, space ships, dinosaurs... :)

    Do you accept the challenge?
  • 6 months, 4 weeks ago Dancsi36 (163)
    Hi JKBrickworks,
I just built this MOC (got the additional pieces Tuesday), I followed all the steps and at the end, I am left with 1 plate 1x2 with 1 knob (11 in the part list, but only 10 needed)
    • 6 months, 3 weeks ago JKBrickworks (22K) MOC Designer
There are 11 used in the instructions, but obviously not all of them are necessary. A few are just used to attach the decorations.

Ah OK, thank you for the clarification. Great MOC by the way, the first I built from your collection was the lawn mower man and I also have the LEGO Ideas Book. I will probably get the LEGO Maze :)

Or make a car factory that self constructs cars.

I challenge you to make a EV3 3d printer that picks up bricks and puts it on a platform for building

This is so much fun, JKBrickworks. I actually just went and bought this set (it's on sale right now) and ordered the additional pieces. Can't wait to get them in the mail and build this. Thanks for providing the community with yet another quality build.

Why this isn't a Pemium Moc?
    • 7 months, 1 week ago JKBrickworks (22K) MOC Designer
Because it's free. All 'Premium' means is that you have to pay for the instructions.
      • 7 months, 1 week ago Smarti797 (59)
Because I mean this I a awesome work. I saw worse mocs that were premium.

His swimming looks so natural and mesmerizing in general. Great job!
  • 8 months ago Cozmonaut (460)
Very nicely done.  The shark's movement is very realistic.

It's things like this that make me drop to my knees and shout, "we're not worthy!"
    Seriously this is awesome.

Now with the shark 🦈. I’m missing the claws of the crab 🦀 though. 😏

I’m done with the mechanism. I don’t have the shark 🦈 yet tho.
