Model "Trailer Tr4 MkII” is build with LEGO® in scale 1:17,5 and motorized using LEGO® Power Functions. It is not build after a specific brand or type of trailer. This build represents a three axle detachable gooseneck lowboy trailer with liftable third axle.

The trailer features: solid axle suspension on all axles, one set of lights, kingpin, mechanical parking break, gooseneck frame support, remotely controlled liftable third axle, remotely lowering and lifting of the deck and this model has many details.

This newly design and engineered trailer utilizes the same suspension as both "US Truck T1 MkII" and "US Truck T2 MkII". It uses LEGO® rubber belts and LEGO® rubber axle connectors.
Designing and engineering this trailer parts availability is checked. So it can easily be build in the color as it is, Yellow, but it can also be build in Red, Blue and Black.

Attention!!!: Both "US Truck T1 MkII" and "US Truck T2 MkII" needs to be adapted to be combined with "Trailer Tr4 MkII”!!!
Else could be used a so called dolly which acts as a convert to fit the trailer. For this dolly building instructions will be available soon.
Attention!!!: LEGO® Technic set 8258 Crane Truck needs to be adapted and requires a modified gooseneck!!! Instructions for "Trailer Tr4 MkII” to go with LEGO® Technic set 8258 Crane Truck will be available soon!

Hey man, thanks so much for the kind words! I couldn't agree more...but hey I designed it ;-) Thanks again and have a nice day!

Trailer Tr4 MKII and trailer for 8258 are the same, right? I have both 8258 and Tr4 MKII but don't want so spend money for the same instruciton!
    • 2 years, 8 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
      Hi!

You are right, let me explain. The trailer exists of to two parts. Part 1: deck with wheels and Part 2: gooseneck. For both version of Tr4 MkII Part 1 is 100% identical. Because of the different height of the fifth wheel on set 8258 Part 2 is different.

What exactly is your question? I understand you don't want to buy both version of the instructions for Tr4 MkII. Why would you need both version? I didn't get that yet...sorry...

I meant, I bought this instruction already, but now I want to use for 8258 also, that's why I ask for instruction how to modify it .  I can't pay again for the trailer of 8258 again/
        • 2 years, 6 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Yeah, okay makes sense. So you want to use the trailer not only with 8258 but with for example one of my trucks... Please send me an email: [email protected]

hi , I have the reverse problem. biught 8258 version and want to use with ingmar trucks.
are the difference in both gooseneck very significative?
  • 2 years, 9 months ago asiadream Level 13
    Hi,
This trailer can be used with  T14 Kraz 255B without any modifications?
    • 2 years, 9 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Hi, no unfortunately not. You have to modify this trailer to fit "Truck T14"
      • 2 years, 9 months ago asiadream Level 13
Could you make a short instruction? because I built the truck already and waiting for parts of this trailer
        • 2 years, 9 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Hi! Sorry for late reply, had to think this over. Well it's not that easy as you wrote, sorry. But you can easily modify the gooseneck yourself I think...

Built this and the Mack Granite this time last year. Did both models in blue. Came up well..

      Hi!

It seems like I never replied to your message...sorry... In Blue is also very cool...thanks for doing this and for supporting me!

Suggestion that came in by the submit change form:

The short steering arm 6571 has become very rare and ridiculously expensive. I suggest replacing them with 1x3 technic beams 32523. This will also, require replacing the 6628 pins with 3673 frictionless pins. This MOD can also apply to MOC-2714.
Wheel rim 32020 no longer has a cast in hub. I suggest adding a half bush 32123b to each wheel set to act as a spacer to prevent the tires rubbing .
    • 3 years, 7 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
It was also added as comment and I did reply to it. I really love it when people have suggestions, but most of the time it is not that easy! Consider it takes month of engineering these trucks and trailers... ;-)

Replacing #6571 is not possible. I'm aware these are expensive and hard to get, but for proper suspension those are really needed. The suggested method will provide suspension, but not proper and it makes the axles way to wobbling... I'm working on an update for this trailer, but that may take a while...

The second suggestion has to do with molt variations. Rim #32020 still has a stam, the rim without stam is #86652. So with the use of #32020 as in the parts list there is no need for a washer...

      Does this help? :-)
  • 4 years, 2 months ago GREG77 Level 4
Part# 6571 (technic steering arm small) has almost gone extinct. The few that are available (about 12 or so) on Bricklink are quite pricey and none are available on Brickowl. Is there an alternative or update for this part? Or am I looking in the wrong places? By the way, I have already completed a US Truck T2 MKII, one Tr4 lowboy in blue and starting on a green version of the same model. Absolutely amazing designs and a total joy to build. The Mack Granite and jeep/boosters are next on the build list.
    • 4 years, 2 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Thanks for the kind words to start with! Great that you enjoy the builds and good to know you will start soon with the Mack and additions to the lowboy. What color will you give the Mack?

About part 6571, yes it is almost extinct. To bad it is, because there is no alternative at the moment... Could you please send me an email: [email protected], maybe I can do you an offer to help you out!

Thanks again for your support and interest! :-)

Hey igmar..I have ur mk2 lowboy moc instruction and need ur permission if I could trade instruction with some guy for other moc instruction that I need?? Thanks
        • 3 years, 11 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Hi again! I do not really understand what you are asking? How would you trade the instructions for this "Trailer Tr4 MkII lowboy". It is assigned to you and to your account... What do you mean?
    • 3 years, 7 months ago Karle Level 7
The 6571 short steering arm can be replaced by a 1x3 technic beam, secured with 2 technic pins w/o friction, 3673. The savings are substantial. Additionally! The wheel rims called for, 32020, no linger have an axel extension which allows the wheels to rub on the axle arms. Add a 32123 1/2 bushing to act as spacer.
      • 3 years, 7 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Hi! Thanks for your comment and trying to solve things, but it is not that easy and the comment you reply to 7 month old... ;-)

About what you suggest, I do not agree, but I like your effort to find solutions though:

The rims used are part #32020 and have axle extension so the parts list is okay. The rims you talk about that have no axle extension are part #86652 which is a totally different part... When this #86652 is used you are right about adding a #32123 as spacer...or #4185

Part #6571 can not be replaced as you suggest. The way you fixed this makes the axle way to wobbling. I used this #6571 part with a specific reason after a couple of weeks research... I am working on a solution without the use of #6571 but not as you described.

Where can i order the parts?

Please scroll down to "Parts Inventory List for MOC-2258 - Trailer Tr4 MkII lowboy" and you'll find your answer...! :-)
      • 4 years, 2 months ago [email protected] Level 3
But what does that (93%) do? do i order i anyways? will i get all the parts?
        • 4 years, 2 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Let me try to explain, no problem. You are close to it!

For example BrickLink store "AFOL Supply" has indeed 93% of the parts for this trailer. If you would order the parts in that store you have already about 93% of what you need to build it!

So the other 7% you need to get somewhere else... For example in other BrickLink stores...

Does this help? Are you familiar with BrickLink and online buying of parts?

Built this a few months ago, great design. It hauls my 42030 loader no problem. :)
    • 4 years, 5 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Thanks for your message! :-) I am sure the 42030 works well with this lowboy. It can easily enter the deck and I am sure it looks amazing as load!!! Well done...

Actually sharing some pictures with us would be nice though! Are you a Eurobricks member? I have a topic on this model where you could share them if you like...
  • 4 years, 6 months ago psmyth Level 16
Well just finished this MOC and was quite surprised of how much weight it can carry. It looks great with the Granite Truck. Thanks for the great instructions on Mocplans.
    • 4 years, 6 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
It really suites the Granite and I am glad you agree. About sharing these instructions you are most welcome and again I do like to thank you for your support! This way I am able to build more of which instructions will be available as well...

What kind of load do you use this lowboy for? You mentioned that you are surprised of how much weight it can carry...so just curious... :-)
      • 4 years, 6 months ago psmyth Level 16
Now I know that this is not to scale but I have sheo's Terex RH400 on this lowboy for display. This is a heavy MOC and the lowboy works well. Of course Jurgen's Linkbelt excavator looks great on this too!!
        • 4 years, 6 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
No it is not to scale, but I am sure it looks impressive! Can you share a picture or so with me/us? Probably Jurgen's model is in scale, but a little "small" to be carried around with such a heavy combination... But it is up to you, what suites you best is just perfect!!! :-)
          • 4 years, 5 months ago psmyth Level 16
Hi again I have some pictures ready for you. How do you want me to send them to you?
            • 4 years, 5 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Are you by any change a EuroBricks member? Best thing to do would be to share pictures at that forum.
BrickSafe.com would also be a nice place to share pictures. I don't know if you are or how much you are familiar with these sites... :-)

If you are not at all familiar with any of this you can also send them directly to me: [email protected] This way I can see them, but not the rest of the world...

    Hi
    Awesome moc
Can't wait to start building it, waiting for my last shippment to come in:D

now i just need a truck to pull it:O started in the wrong end i guess

do you know wich is stronger the T12 or T2 truck?
    • 4 years, 6 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Thanks!!! :-) Great that you support me and you will have fun building this for sure...

Maybe you started at the wrong end, but who cares... ;-) Yes you need a truck that is for sure.

You can just stick with T12, it does the job just fine!
If you prefer T2, which does the job well too :-) you also need "Trailer Tr4 Add1 MkII". It is up to you, it really doesn't matter...
      • 4 years, 6 months ago azza98 Level 3
with ''Trailer Tr4 Add1 MkII'' you meen the jeep and booster?
so you can't connect the trailer directly to your truck without the booster?

i saw the tourqe values are just the same for the two trucks :)

and 25$ for instructions is not that much considering the price for all the parts x)
        • 4 years, 6 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Yes, you are correct I refer to the jeep and booster...

Yes, you can connect the trailer directly to Truck T12, but no you can not directly connect T2. Therefor T12 is especially designed to fit the trailer Tr4... This all has to do with the location of the fifth wheel which you adjust using T12, but again, not for T12...
          Does this make sense?

That is my thought exactly, buying all the parts is more expensive and without instructions you can not build my models... ;-)
          • 4 years, 6 months ago azza98 Level 3
thanks for great answers, saw the 5th wheel adjustment in the video. so it all makes sense now :D T12 it is.

You are welcome, glad I could help! Have fun building and if you like please keep me posted and share some pictures!

    hi Ingmar,

I like to send You some pics of the progress I made with the build. What's the best place to post/email them?

    Grtz John
    • 4 years, 7 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
      Hi John,

Great!!! I am working on a way for people to share there pictures with easily with others...

If you like to, you can create a Bricksafe.com account, works well and allows you to upload pictures and makes it easier to share pictures at eurobricks.com for example...

For now I suggest to add them to this topic on Eurobricks.com:
      http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?s=d7a5de750be74e721a630eb3deaec54f&showtopic=102992&st=75

Maybe you could even comment at MOCplans.com, this is without pics, but would be nice anyways... :-)

Finally you can also send me some pictures at [email protected]

Thanks again John for your support! Do you have plans to build some others as well?

      Ingmar
    • 4 years, 6 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
      Hi John,

Did you already got the change to share some pictures? I didn't see any so that is why I ask :-)

      Ingmar
      • 4 years, 6 months ago te_Honu Level 6
Hi Ingmar, i've sent you a couple by email and was awaiting response. So sorry For the long wait😋 I'll work out a way to post them on Bricksafe and post the link. It's a shame that we can't post them here😳

Will come back to you soon
        • 4 years, 6 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
          John,

You did :-( never received any, but now I understand... ;-) What email address did you use? It can be found at Brickshelf, it is in the description of all my models, so no secret about it... :-)

Yes, in a way it does make sense to be able to post pictures here, on the other hand that is not what this page is about. As I mentioned before Eurobricks would be an awesome place to post them! There is this topic I created specifically for this trailer...just give it a try...

Again, looking forward to receive pictures...still...haha... ;-)
          • 4 years, 6 months ago te_Honu Level 6
            Ingmar,

I created an Eurobrick account but there's a restriction on how many pic's a can post :s. So there are only 2 pics. I have many more. I also created an dolly. Used the suspension and the neck of the trailer, the kingpin plate of the 8258 upgrade. The total combi I'm building consist of a modified 8258 12x12, full suspension, full remote, 2 front 1 rear LED, with a dolly 3 live axles, motorized support legs, rear LED, your trailer and I think that there will be a jeep at the end.

The email I used to send the pics is your personal hotmail, so :)
            • 4 years, 6 months ago Ingmar Spijkhoven Level 20 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
This really is wired, personally I never have this issued...to bad for you! :-(

Well you are building yourself an amazing MOC/MOD, well done...I am curious! Just helping you, not correcting...the jeep or dolly is at the front of the trailer and at the rear end it is called a booster...just for you to know :-)

Did not receive any message yet!? Did you already send me an email?

Nevertheless, thanks for all your effort! Maybe you could contact a Eurobrick's admin to help you out?
              • 4 years, 6 months ago te_Honu Level 6
Eurobrick has the policy that the first 10 post are restricted after that i'll have full access.

That's funny my contact how's helping me with the total setup tolt me that the dolly is in front and the jeep/booster is in the back :)

I'll sent you a new email with all the pics. Can I use your hotmail account or do you prefer another account?

Eurobrick will work out eventually ;)
