4506 Triturator & Demontail

Two models that form an odd combination, but sometimes that's just how it goes.

The Triturator is a space ship. I started on the outside, with the wings, to see if I could create a hexagonal shape that I could connect from the top and bottom. The backend thus was second. The main and central body thus came last, which is rather unusual but here I could just aim to fill up the center as best as I could. Fortunately this set contains sufficient parts to make it work out in a decent way.

There were still plenty of parts left, including some transparent disks. I started with the head first. It is a rather intricate construct which make effective usage of the sizes and connectors of the bricks to combine uneven brick sizes with even sizes. The body took two attempts. The first version was without the wings, which I considered made the design looks weak and the top and bottom didn't look that good. Adding the wings was the solution although it took several attempts before I got the proportions and shape to my satisfaction. There were still quite a few parts left and those went into the tail. I aimed to give it a decent color scheme and I think it worked out quite alright.
