Today I finished your poison: the Siberian conqueror 8 * 8 is really awesome. After I finished it, I went down to test the whole car to run smoothly. I didn't use the way of sbrick plus lithium battery. I directly used the position of two buwizz batteries and put them in the position of lithium battery in your drawing. Thank you.

I am thinking of taking out the 2 s-Bricks, 3 IR receivers and 2 batteries, dump the 3 IR controllers, and change all that to one or eventually two Buwizzes and my cell phone.
Do you think it will work? My set right now is quite slow and with too many cables... 😊
Any comments? Madoca, do you approve?
    Thanks to all

My friend rm8 made one in blue/white using two BuWizz units. You may see his video driving it on snowy ground. He said the power is more than enough but that caused a lot of damages on bevel gears.

I think the best setting in 2019 would be using two BuWizz, removing 3:1 gear reduction in drivetrain and replacing all wheel hubs with new planetary hub parts.

    Pastebin of Review
I built the MOC, and I absolutely LOVE it. It looks Amazing and has some decent capability off-road. That Being Said, I have some suggestions.
    Problems 1 and 2:
I find whichever axle is trailing the leading axle (Axle two going forward, axle three going backward) tends to barely turn when the steering racks are hard over and, as mentioned by Madoca, the gears click. I believe this could be fixed by the insertion of the New Linear Clutch being introduced in October of 2019 in set 42100 (The Liebherr 9800) where the current model has two Axle Connectors (6538c on Bricklink) between the axles. Alternatively, the 2nd and 3rd axles could be separated by a mechanism that disengages the 1st and 4th axles using a driving ring (6539 on Bricklink).

The first solution would be decent on both a hard surface and off-road. Steering on a hard surface may not be enough to trip the New Linear Clutch and driving off-road would potentially have issues with loss of power from one or more wheels leaving the ground, seeing how quadrants power the wheels.
The Second Solution would require a significant rework of the undercarriage and possibly the body to fit more frame in without changing the look of the vehicle; however, it would have great performance both off and on a hard surface. Driving on a Hard Surface the front and read axles would be disengaged, decreasing the turning radius and increasing turning speed by removing parasitic losses incurred by wheel scrub. Off Road the outer axles would be engaged, allowing for maximum traction. The Second Solution would also give a purpose to the last remaining SBrick Port. The unlocking of the Front and Rear Axles could even be installed as a replacement for the Crab Function as it increases the capability of the vehicle more than the crab function; however, it would most certainly rob the vehicle of one of the things that makes it extremely unique.

        Problem 3:
As Mentioned by Madoca, this MOC is not a Trial Truck. I believe this could be fixed by replacing the wheel hubs with the new Planetary Reduction Hub found in the new 4x4 to be released in August of 2019 (42099). I believe the "Base" model should have a 12 tooth gear on the motor driving a 12 tooth gear on the Driveshaft with the new Planetary Hubs instead of the Current Hubs, Giving the vehicle a gear ratio of 5:1. I also Believe the Parts List should include both Eight 12 tooth gears with four 24 tooth and four eight tooth gears to give the builder the option to either take the 5:1 final drive ratio and have a decent all-around vehicle or give it a final drive ratio of 15:1 for a version of the vehicle more fun to drive off road.

          Problem 4:
The Rechargeable Battery Box is Expensive to buy, and the AAA Battery Box is expensive to run. While I did buy two of the rechargeable battery boxes to put in my copy of the MOC, I do believe there should be an alternate version where the SBricks are located where the current batteries are, and a AA battery box or two is placed un the rear of the cab and accessible from the large panel on the roof. While the AA battery box will still not be rechargeable, the box will cost about a quarter as much to operate as two AAA boxes as the AA box's MilliAmp Hour Rating is about twice as high as the AAA box and AA batteries are a little over half the price as AAA batteries. If Amperage calls for it, two AA battery boxes could be inserted into the model. The resultant battery setup would last a little over three times as long as two Rechargeable Battery Boxes.

I would test these solutions myself, but I am not exactly rolling in bricks.
Once Again, Love the Model. It is the best looking off-road machine I've seen on Rebrickable (one or two come close) which is why I want to see it improved. I want to see the model do what it looks like it can.
If you made it this far, I would thank you for reading. Have a nice day!

I see many MOC photos using different tires; are they using the balloon tires with part number 45982?
  • 8 months, 1 week ago dbdecker Level 6 PRO
I will be buying this, at 85% of the parts, might need to sub some colours.
Love the build and also the comment "Unlike the real Shaman, this MOC is not amphibious."

Hi, when i am going to "buy parts" it shows me, that there are 2575 parts, but when i "add it to bricklist" it tells me, that only 198 parts are added...

I think this might possibly be my favourite MOC ever - the video just blows me away.  And I really love the orange variety - that's the one I'll do I think.  Yep, one of these days I'll work out what bits I'm missing (need 2 x SBrick or a buwizz for starters!), get them ordered and finally build it.
Shame it never snows where I live but I'm sure I can find some nice dirt to test it in.
Madoca, thanks so much for this :-)
  • 2 years, 3 months ago yohanesw Level 13 MOC Designer
apparently it can run with 1 buwizz, eliminating the need for 2 rechargeable batteries + 2 sbrick at the cost of cannot control the LED manually, so it attached to L motor to light up when driving only, nice!
    • 1 year, 6 months ago sitsia Level 7
Wait so you mean that if i just order 1 buwizz it can take over for both the sbricks and the battery boxes? that it alone will do all that those 4 do?
      • 1 year, 6 months ago yohanesw Level 13 MOC Designer
yes with buwizz v1, configured like this:
        - 4L motor + 2led stacked
        - 2 servo stacked
        - 1 m motor
        - 1 m motor

not sure with v2 might have circuit protection kicked in
        • 1 year, 6 months ago sitsia Level 7
Ok. I guess i should order a Buwizz then. thanks for the info. Also maybe show your profile? it says your a designer yet a private profile page

sorry didn’t realize that, try again now
            • 1 year, 6 months ago sitsia Level 7
Nice. i wonder though. If it would be possible to use 1 normal battery box (or 2) and 2 ir recievers. Would that affect the performance too or
              • 1 year, 6 months ago yohanesw Level 13 MOC Designer
not possible, with ir & normal battbox you would need:

2x ir V2 for 4L and 2 servo plus 1x standard ir for 2M motor, with minimum 2 battbox and that cargo room would be a mess with wires
                • 1 year, 6 months ago sitsia Level 7
Hmm yea your right. But still do you reccomend to build this moc?
                  • 1 year, 6 months ago yohanesw Level 13 MOC Designer
that’s absolutely without a doubt, one of the best technic moc ever in rebrickable especially if you love trucks & big tires
                    • 1 year, 6 months ago sitsia Level 7
As i try looking for buwizz v1. all i find is buwizz v2. where can i find and buy v1 then?
                      • 1 year, 6 months ago yohanesw Level 13 MOC Designer
it’s not for sale anymore unless you find it else where from flea market or someone else who got order version
                        • 1 year, 6 months ago sitsia Level 7
Ok. I think i will just skip the electric winch part. make it manual instead. spare an M motor. then place 2 L motors on 1 port. and 2 on
another. then i hope its possible on the buwizz app to configure and
control the 2 ports at once. and the other 2 ports for the servos and the
other M motor. Wouldnt that be a better performance?
                          • 1 year, 6 months ago yohanesw Level 13 MOC Designer
the problem with v2 is it have very little tolerance to high load then the protection would make it stop working. I’ve tried it with madoca icarus with 4L + 1 servo, it didn’t work beyond 1 minute and keep shutting down, meanwhile on v1 it works just fine, but it perhaps my bad too because i set it to ludicrous instead of normal mode
                            • 1 year, 6 months ago sitsia Level 7
So how does it perform on normal mode then
  • 2 years, 6 months ago Technilego Level 7 MOC Designer
I had build it. The steering system work well. And the 8-wheels drive also very powerful.Thank you for submit this wonderful creation.
