Amazing kinetic sculpture! It's hard to find another plan using the same colour parts but not orange. I have to build it with two different colours, it's still awesome. Thanks again for the wonderful instructions!

I've been trying to figure this out, as well! I found out on Bricklink that red might be easier to get.

What a strange and beautiful moving sculpture AEH5040 has created. Naming the creation after Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwocky is inspired. When I came upon the MOC recently—late to the party, as usual—I could not take my eyes off it as the video above played. I decided I had to have the model at home to contemplate. Building the MOC in the original orange colored bricks was just way too expensive. Even in red, the angled Technic bricks are very pricey. I settled on black with some red highlighting. If the angled bricks had been available in green, I’d likely have jumped at the opportunity—since the movement of the Slithy Toves makes me think of an undersea plant moving in the water currents. The building instructions are excellent, concise but very clear. The design of the base with sideways black beams sandwiching the nine gears is ingenious. The only changes I made—besides my choice of colors—were to add longer axles to the top of eight of the strands and cap them with black cones. The only real trouble I encountered was a lack of calibration of the nine strands when I first turned on the motor. It seems that the “+” shaped tops of the Technic axles extending up through the gears and the base have to be exactly parallel for the moving strands not to collide. My second build fixed this issue and the Slithy moves with grace. I’ve submitted a few photographs. You can see my fairly humble video in my gallery here.

Excellent concept and design. It gives an impression of marine plants like kelp or seaweeds undulating with sea currents.

True but illusion stuff I think is always a little creepy but it's pretty darn cool!

Amazing contribution! I had some Christmas music playing in the background while I watched your video, Sir Cliff Richard's Saviour's Day. Then a Jazz version of Deck the Halls followed by a Celtic Harp piece, and I envisioned this as Peppermint Sticks in Red, Green, and White moving perfectly in time with the music.
