Very good review but there is a mistake in the introduction. They celebrated the anniversary of the patent of the 2x4 brick and not the lego anniversary. Lego is way older.

Built it a month ago and it's perfect! The off-road capabilities are unstoppable. The building process is straight foreward and not boring, but the instructions don't feel worth 10 € because sometime you only can guess how it's build and another problems are the cables. You need to take parts of the model apart to connect the lights because the instructions told impossible things to do. You will need to have patience. The functions work extremely well, all of them.

    • The axles of the back portal axles tend to go out, just build a stopper in front of it.
    • To save money you don't have to buy 12x 0.5x5 technic beam just buy 6. The others aren't visible.
    • Don't buy 4x the v2 receiver, you maximum need 1 for the 2x L-Motors and yes their is space for two S-Brick (S-Brick) or two Buwizz (Buwizz).
    • It's possible to mod the marauder in the back to normal spring but it's difficult and I would rather get a used 9398 on ebay or other platforms.

I built this Moc at my birthday and first I was a bit sceptical because I did build the Land Rover Defender and the gearbox wasn't working well (This also could be my fault ;-)) but as I finished the Jeep I was amazed: The gearbox is working extremely well and you can switch the gears while you drive, you don't even need a clutch. The switching of the different modes is again a master piece. I also was sceptic about the off-road capabilities but these were excellent.

    • If you don't want to waste money on the rare tires, just buy 5x 45982 and 5x 56908 in black, they look better and aren't that rare
    • Change all blue pins from the Body-work to black especially the L3 pins , they look ugly
    • Change the front LBG panel to black
    • If you want more off-road capacities without sacrificing the good look change the gears between the reduction and the 4WD/2WD switch to a 8 tooth gear and a 24 tooth gear.
    • Change the pin form the reduction lever to none friction (Will make the reduction switching less noisy)
    • These are all optional the jeep will also work without them exept the 2nd gear (main gearsbox) with fast reduction.

Got the remaining Parts for Christmas. Was maybe the best Christmas gift ever.
If you're a Person who wanna reveal how to build a gearbox this is the best choice.

This MOC isn't good for People, who want a very reliable gearbox and a (real) offroader.

I had about 2/3 of the parts and paid around 150 €.
