In chemistry, an enantiomer is one of two stereoisomers thatare mirror images of each other that are non-superposable (not identical). So, yeah, I’m a chemist. Chemistry to me is much like LEGO.You take a few elements and you can combine them and create infinitely many variations. My favourite sets:42082 & 42030-1. Languages: Dutch (Native), English (Fluent) & German (Good).

Yes, I made them in 5 different color schemes. You can find them here:
In the Dark Azure/Yellow color scheme there are a few problems since not all parts that I swapped out are available in yellow. I put them in the file as yellow anyway, so you'll get some color errors if you import that file here.

I like this set, it really looks quite nice and the functionality is also well engineered. After I finished building it I was thinking about building a few additional identical cars (in different colors) and placing them on the transporter. When I started looking into that I noticed there is a small issue with the position of the latches which are used on the front upper deck to latch the cars in place. The distance between those is 32 studs, whereas the car is 35 studs long. Consequently it wouldn't be possible to place two cars of this design here. It really isn't a serious issue since it's fairly straightforward to extend the upper deck by a few studs and shift the latch positions accordingly. But still, it's a shame for an otherwise very nice set.

It's nice to add the RC drive & steering, though in my opinion, it's not worth sacrificing the gear box and paddle shift system for it. To me, this feel like actually downgrading the model to just a generic RC car.

Hopefully someone will figure out a way to add RC drive, steering AND gear shifting. That would be an absolutely awesome achievement!

I was wondering about the part list which is shown here.  There is only one motor shown (XL). How can you run two separate functions (drive & steering) from that? Or is there a second motor required which is not shown here?

Also I don't see an IR transmitter in the part list (only a receiver). I'm guessing that's a mistake.

Here are some pics pic of the instructions. In "step 465.jpg" you can see a bit of how much/little room there is between the seats and the enigine.

There is a frame supporting the roof consisting of two 5*7 frames, a L-frame 5*3 and a beam L15 connecting them. These can probably be removed/modified to create more room. Also, the LGB T-frame just in front of the enigine can be removed without any consequences, making the total room something like 6*13, which should be sufficient to put in some battery and maybe a receiver.

In "Step 597 Notations.jpg" you can see the room that is available just in front of the rear wheels. It's only 4 * 4 * 7 and I don't know how you could use it to tie into either the drive, steering or gear shift mechanism.

For controlling the sequential gear shift mechanism you can probably best use a servo motor, since for each shift you only need a 1/4 turn in either direction.
