This is our 2nd Designer Spotlight article where we ask MOC designers to write something interesting about their journey here on Rebrickable. The following post is written by MOC designer sebbl who will explain how they design alternate builds.

Happy New Year, it's the 1st of January again (well for me it is) and it's time for some statistics and review of what happened on Rebrickable over the last year.
According to Google Analytics, we had the first ever decrease in number of visitors to the site for 2024 :(

If you weren't aware, ever since we introduced the Pro/Designer Plans (7 years ago!) we have been giving away monthly LEGO prizes to a randomly selected Pro/Designer user as part of our Pro Raffle draw. For this month only (December 2024), I will be increasing the prize to $500 and throwing in the new RebrickMat (now with an updated v16 design).

The title says it all really - we recently welcomed our 1 millionth registered account here at Rebrickable. I coincidentally noticed it the day after it happened. So welcome to user Wat32 who will be receiving a free RebrickMat for their good luck :)

You can now more easily add multiple images to your MOCs, to be displayed as a sliding image gallery. Previously this required linking to an external Bricksafe page (which is no longer supported). Up to 12 images can be added to the MOC's image gallery during submission or afterwards via the Admin tab.

The RebrickMat is a large 90cm x 40cm deskpad sized rubber mat, with various design and reference data printed on the top. It's a great surface to use when building LEGO Sets/MOCs, or just to use as a fancy mouse pad. It is available now from our Rebrickable Merch Store.

2023 has come and gone. It's time to look back and see what happened on the site over the last year, and draw some pretty charts.
We had another amazing increase in the number of users of the site for 2023, with about 33% growth. The Google Analytics software we use to track these stats had a forced downgrade part way through the year which made comparing stats before and after difficult, so I've dropped the pageviews stat from this chart.

We have introduced some changes intended to improve your ability to promote your MOCs and engage with your followers.
The new Workbench page is your own personal blog that you can use to document your LEGO builds. This might include work-in-progress designs for MOCs that you are working towards publishing; or official sets you might be building; or anything else related to LEGO building.
